‘Adelardus abbey beer’, is the youngest descendant of our beers.
This dark brown beer was made for the open house days of the abbey.
Adelardus was one of the most important abbots for the abbey of Trudo and the city Sint-Truiden. He built the tower and rebuilt the existing church into one of the most monumental churches of that time.
The ingredients are: brewing liquor, malt, yeast, hop, candy and ‘sweet gale’.
‘Sweet gale’ is a mixture of ten spices from the region, which gives the beer its typical flavour.
The alcohol content of this abbey beer is 7 % vol.alc
